Teaches, plans, assesses, observes and creates an enabling environment to nurture and help children develop logical thinking, social understanding and problem-solving skills.
Stefanie Ross - Nursery West Class Teacher
(BEd in Early Childhood Education, QTS, Trainee Play Therapist)
Plans and teaches across the seven areas of the EYFS. Creates a fun and stimulating environment for the children. Maths curriculum champion of Early Years.
Jenna Smith - Reception Class Teacher
(BA (Hons) in Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status).
Creates a nurturing environment so children can develop their best selves while improving in the seven areas of learning. Communication and Language and Expressive Arts and Design curriculum champion of Early Years.
Kathryn Rivalland - Reception North Class Teacher
(BEd – Early Years)
Teaches Reception class and inspires children to reach their full potential. Plans, assesses, observes and implements the curriculum. Ensures children have an exciting and safe environment to express themselves and explore. PSED curriculum champion of Early Years.
Sophie Le Marchand - Head of Lower School Literacy, Year 1 Form Teacher
(BA (Hons) from Oxford University in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History. Graduate Teaching Program at Reading University).
Organises and leads the Read Write Inc. and Big Write Schemes. Creates talking points for the school. Holds parent coffee mornings.
Ensures every child in form class thrives academically, socially and emotionally.
Jennifer Hansen - Head of Lower School Science and Year 2 Form Teacher
(Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Master of Teaching).
Supports and guides children in the lower school to investigate science in the world around them with enquiry based learning. Ensures every child in form class thrives academically, socially and emotionally.
Shishali Sheth - Head of PSHE and Charities. Form 2 teacher
(BA Hons, PGCE)
Leads weekly PSHE assemblies for Phase 1, 2 and 3. Co-ordinates monthly class charity events. Organises WellBeing Week for the school. Teaches core subjects to Year 2.
Genna Amira - Year 3 West form teacher
(BA Rhodes University, majors in Drama and Organisational Psychology. PGCE)
Enhances each child’s learning potential with interactive and challenging lessons. Involved with tennis coaching.
Dawn Freeborn - Year 3 class teacher, RE co coordinator and teaches Year 8 RE for Common Entrance. School Council Leader.

Plans and delivers a stimulating curriculum. Runs the P4C club. Part of the SECRET team which supports children in taking control of their own learning. Leads the school council by facilitating meetings and supporting objectives.
Holds bi-weekly meetings with elected school councillors.
Ciara Gibney - Head of Lower School Maths, 4 West Teacher

Plans and delivers exciting lessons for Year 4 children. Co-ordinates Mathematics teaching and learning from EYFS to Year 4.
Selina Sutton - English Teacher, Head of IPC, Year 5 Class teacher
(BA (Hons) from Sheffield University in Media and Journalism. PGCE Northumbria University).
Oversees coverage, planning, assessment and making links with schools around the world.
Rosemarie Capper - Science Teacher and Year 6 form teacher
(BSc (Chemistry)
Enthuses pupils thorough exciting and interactive lessons in science for Key Stage 2 and 3.
Jyoti Marwah - Head of Upper School Maths and Year 7 form teacher
(BSc (Hons) QTS: Biological Sciences).
Encourages children by invigorating the enquiring mind and practical activities. Teaches pupils to evaluate information, see patterns and connections, construct meaningful knowledge and apply it in real life. 11 and 13 + preparation underpins all planning.
Line Montero Pesoa - Head of French
(BA in Modern Foreign languages (Spanish and French), QTS).
Teaches French from Year 4 to Year 8. Adapts lessons for each individual pupil according to fluency and level.
Andrew Burton - Sports teacher, Year 6 History teacher and holiday camp co-ordinator
(BA, PGCE)
Teachers Year 6 History, coaches boys’ and girls’ PE lessons and teambuilding sessions. Plans and implements holiday camp programmes during holidays.
Berna Bouwer - Year 7 Tutor, Maths teacher and Enrichment support teacher
(Bachelors in Education – Junior Primary (Maths Specialisation), BEd Hons in Education – School Psychology and Counselling, BEd Hons in Education – Educational Psychology, Masters in Education – Educational Psychology)
Helps pupils develop inquiring minds and to learn problem solving with mathematical reasoning and analytical skills. Supports learning development with an inclusive mindset.
Ana Bagaric - ICT and Computing Teacher
(BSc Hons Degree in Information Systems. PGCE Postgraduate Teacher Training).
Teaching ICT and Computing across all year groups, Facilitate the use of co-curricular ICT across the school, implementing curriculum as necessary.
Chris Macleod - Head of Art
(BA Honours in Fine Art and French. KS2 qualification).
Teaches art, encourages creativity, builds on skills taught, presents artwork to the community, displays artwork around the school.
Lisa Dhesi - Head of Upper School English
(Masters in Creative Writing from Cambridge University, PGCE from Oxford Brookes University, BA Hons in English Literature from Exeter University).
Enhances learning and a love of English in all forms across the school. Provides specialised teaching in the upper school in preparation for Common Entrance exams.
Piers Roderick - Head of Geography and PE teacher
(BSc Geography with Honours. PGCE Secondary with Geography).
Enjoys helping children become passionate about the world around them. Prepares children for the 11+ exams.
Holly George - Head of Drama
(Bachelor of Performing Arts in Musical Theatre, PGCE. Winner of International American Songwriting Awards 2015 (Lyricist)
Teaches creative drama to all year groups to encourage confidence in performing. Writes and directs school productions, teaches school singing for whole school assembly. Directs musical theatre Glee club productions. Coaches public speaking skills.
Christian Nielsen - Sports Teacher
(BENG (Hons) in Engineering NVQ Level 2 in Sports. Recreation, Coaching, Teaching and Instructing)
Organises, plans and teaches sports skills and games in a fun environment. Plans fixtures with other prep schools.
David MacDonald - Head of Music
(Cert Ed. LRAM)
Supports the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of children, using music as an investigative and creative force.
Leads team of professional peripatetic teachers in pupil led concerts and public performances. Responsible for the development and integration of music software into the curriculum.
Maintains communication and liaison with the music departments from future schools our children attend once leaving The Hampshire School.
Amanda Pepona - Latin and Classical Civilisation/Enrichment teacher
(BA in Classics (Classical Philology) Studying for MA in Education)
Teaches Latin and Ancient Greek to Year 5 to 8 pupils. Helps with preparation for CE 13+ exams. Support children with learning difficulties..
Magalie Tremblay - French Teacher for Early Years and Phase 1
(BA in Communication and Media, Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Modern Foreign Languages).
Teaches French to the Early Years and Phase 1 pupils. Brings the subject alive with lots of role play, songs and fun activities. Ensures differentiation is apparent for beginners through to native speakers.
Ric Pinheiro - Enrichment Teacher
(BSc in Psychology)
Works with teachers to plan, present lesson plans and create some assessments to ensure all children have their different needs met.
